We are a multi-health professional general practice providing quality health care services to the South Taranaki District communities.
The Hāwera clinic is located close to the Hāwera CBD and is open every business day from 8:00am to 4:45pm. It offers a wide range of services including same-day prescriptions and same-day appointments for acute, urgent care.
Like most GP practices across the country, we are very short staffed and therefore we are unable to accept new patients. Please be assured we are doing our best to recruit both Doctors and Nurses to come and live in the South Taranaki area. In the meantime, please be kind to our staff, we are doing the best we can in this current staffing crisis.

We partner with Ka Ora Telecare to provide virtual after-hours GP services, as an extension of our regular medical centre team.
Important Information
Christmas Hours
Mountainview Medical Centre will be closed for the holiday season from 3:00 PM on 24 December 2025 until 8 am on 5 January 2026. Please remember to request any necessary prescriptions during the week before our closure.

Ka Ora Telecare
Ka Ora Telecare is a free after-hours telehealth service available to people living in or visiting rural communities across New Zealand.
Hours: 5:00 PM to 8:30 AM on weekdays, and 24/7 on weekends and public holidays

You’ll be connected with a nurse or healthcare professional who can assess your needs, offer advice, or arrange a consultation. All appointments are free for children under 14 years old.
